Trekking in Serindere Canyon

PROGRAM

After leaving Istanbul at 08:00, we arrive at KaraaslanFacilities where we will get our village breakfast around 09:15. After receiving our breakfast a short information about the course will be given. Then we reach the start of point around 10:30.

Although the Serinderetrail is a medium course, it is also suitable for beginners. Walking does not require conditioning, you just need to pay attention to the slippery ground in the stream and listen to the guide's warnings. The walk starts from the small trout farm at the canyon entrance. After walking on a dirt road for a while we go down to the creek.

After making our first creek crossing, we continue to walk through the paths to the left and right of the creek but generally walk through the creek. On our way we encounter an unused mill. The mill used to grind flour unfortunately is not currently used. The 4-5 meter waterfall flowing between the rocks on the stream immediately stands as a harbinger of what we will encounter. After about half an hour walk, we arrive at the point where the canyon narrows.

Here the creek bed narrows up to 2 meters and the height of the water reaches up to the waist at this point. After a little walk, the canyon expands again. This time you find yourself in a jungle; giant leafy plants, a forest stretching over you, ponds, moss-trapped trees. A complete visual feast. Of course, we just do not walk, the small ponds on the creek, waterfalls, and 1.5 hours after the canyon continues to cool off the property is lost when the canyon. Here we go back after a rest and photograph break.

On the way back, participants walk faster than they are used to walking in the creek. The walk on this track takes about 2.5 hours except for breaks. In fact, the distance is not much in km, but the walk time is so long because it can not walk fast in the stream.

We can have lunch at a convenient location on the trail or at the end of the walk. If it is taken in the course, we need to carry the food with us. On this trail, be careful to walk especially where your guide is walking and small rocks in the water. Since our walk through the creek is always stony, be sure to choose a wrist boat. Water shoes are usually half-coned and leave their ankles exposed. Sandals are definitely not recommended.

When we go back to the point where we started to walk next to the vehicle, we change our clothes and drink our tea and move to Istanbul around 17.00. We arrive in Istanbul around 19.30.

Breakfast: Plenty of village breakfast

Lunch: sausage barbecue, mushrooms, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant butter, halvah, fruit, cold drinks, wafers
