Trekking in Kerpe Babadağı Kocaeli

PROGRAM

On this track, trekking starts at one point and ends at another point. So, do not try to go back, give up the track and say "I want to rest here, pick me up on your way back" :) 

Following our departure from İstanbul at 08:00 am, we will go to Kandıra for shopping after about 1-hour travel. During this break, we recommend you buy famous Kandıra soudjouk. Our morning treats will be served in cars. 

We will arrive at Babadağ Village where we will start trekking at around 11:00. After our preparations, we will go on the path after walking in the village road for a while. Following 15 minutes of climbing, we will start to go down. We will continue our trekking within forest paths, hazelnut gardens and fields, soil roads to arrive to the Black Sea, although this may change depending on the season and the group. There are no slopes and climbing on the track. The last 40 minutes will pass completely on a flat surface comprised of path and soil road.

After nearly 2 hours of trekking, we will arrive at the vast lawn where will have our lunch at the Black Sea coast. After having our barbecue with the view of Kerpe Bay, we will walk once more that will last for about 40 minutes. Our target is to go to the point reaching out to the Black Sea. Following our 10-minute walk on the road, we will go on the path. Interesting rock formations at the edge of the point will especially draw attention of photo lovers. (The ones who don't want to walk, can rest by the bay where we will have our meals). 

After going back on the same road, we will leave the bay and go to the center of Kerpe. Our target here is called the Old Castle. It was used by the Genoese and Ottomans in the past. Today, there are just some walls remaining. But the real beauty here is rock formations and caves formed by the wind and waves. We will go through this visual beauty if you wish. This requires a little effort, but it is entertaining. If you are not interested in caves or castles, you can sip your tea or coffee at the cafes by the sea.  

We will set out to get back at around 17:00 pm. We can stop by a bazaar for village products set up by local women. We will arrive at İstanbul at around 19:30.

MEALS

Breakfast: Sandwich, cake, fruit juice

Lunch: Soudjouk barbecue, mushroom, cucumber, tomato, pepper, eggplant spread, barbecued halva, fruit, cold drink, wafer

IMPORTANT

The tour will not be canceled except for force majeure and in case of not reaching enough number. If the tour is canceled by the company, tour fee is refunded.
